my band is ready to put up some demo's. but we dont know what to record with to get them to myspace, or how to get them on there in mp3 form. please help.
How do you get music to your band myspace?
First of all, you do realize that you can ONLY post songs that you or members of your band wrote or that you either own the rights to or have permission from the copyright owner of the songs [i.e. a license].
Record with any recording equipment. You can record directly to a pc but you need the right software or you can record to tape [hifi VCR will make quality recordings] but to make a professional recording means recording to a multitrack machine so that the music can later be mixed and engineered, enabling the volume etc. of each instrument to be adjusted individually. There is software to do this with a computer but it will take time to learn how to use it.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that this is not simple if you want pro results. Find someone with a recording studio and get answers from them. They can make a CD of your song and from the CD it is simple to make an mp3 file to upload to MySpace. They should be able to make the mp3 for you as well.
To upload music to a MySpace account your myspace account needs to be registered as a band rather than a standard my space account.
I manage the MySpace page for singer/songwriter Jack Tannehill found at http://www.myspace.com/jacktannehill
I see your profile says you plan on posting covers. You can't do that...
