If you heard it on the player that is automatic on the profile then the song came from The bands space itself or a fan site for the band. Search for the bands name on myspace and then on the results you will find fan and official band sites. I would say yes they were a band and may still be together. If they are new and you liked them...promote them around the net! If they are not together you should search out band members in the drop down box and see if you can find any results there to ex members of the band.
