request to be friends with a bunch of random people. They will most likely check out your page before either accepting your request or denying it. They will probably listen to whatever music you have posted.
Search for people who like bands similar to yours and request to be friends with those people. Then when they go to your page, they'll play the music to see whether or not they like it...it's an easy way to get more people to listen to your music and to get more fans.
Tell your friends to promote your music. Search people whose interests are music and in your specific genre. That should get you out there. And if not tell your friends to post bulletins about your music and make banners and ask them to put them on their pages to show their friends. Advertise it in your AIM profile. Add it to your Yahoo Profile. Email it to everyone on your Adress Book!
list it on Answers as "Listen to my band on Myspace, tell me if you like it.....insert address"

It likely won't be compatible with your band page if it requires the About Me section. That's only for personal profiles.
On band profiles, the equivalent to an About Me is the Biography section, so you might try pasting it in there, but band profiles have different table classes, so there's no guarantee that layout will work on your band page.
Try looking for a site, or section of a site, that's specific to band layouts. Good luck.

Take a picture, or find a picture, and then do a google search to find a coding site. There are a few sites that will help you create a layout using your picture and certain colors that you can select. Or you can take a chance and email owners of layout sites asking them to make you one. Or, if you want something general, just search for layouts. But you probably want a custom one. Good luck!

Well, a lot of bands on myspace are still up and coming bands, so they might not be a popular band, but it is possible that they do exist in there small part of their country!
If you heard it on the player that is automatic on the profile then the song came from The bands space itself or a fan site for the band. Search for the bands name on myspace and then on the results you will find fan and official band sites. I would say yes they were a band and may still be together. If they are new and you liked them...promote them around the net! If they are not together you should search out band members in the drop down box and see if you can find any results there to ex members of the band.

many bands only accept people whose profiles are not private so they can see who they r accepting first. also send a message along with a friend request showing them that u acctually like their band so that they dont think that u r just doing it to get more friends.
If it's a well known band then it may just might take them a few days to aprove all the freind request that the get in a day. Send a second request. Tey may not have gotten the first one or deleted it by mistake.
if they're popular bands, their inboxes will be clogged with friend requests and messages so don't worry about it-they'll get back to you whenever they can

you need to use the mixdown or export function in garage band.
when you do this you can select the format. i would save a copy as a .wav file (for putting on cd) and a copy as mp3 (for the net)

You might have accidentaly signed up for the normal signup, or you might not have entered it in the search engine right.
It may be that MySpace has recognized you as a user, rather than a band.
Wait a while, sometimes it takes some time for them to recognize you as both.

The best way to accomplish these things, depends on your div overlay strategy.
have you installed the div overlay yet?
Does it cover the page, or does it hide elements.
If it hides stuff what strategy is used to hide the stuff.
Does your music player show up now?
Do you have any other objects on your page, which are not in their own class (so that we can prevent them from moving with the player).
Normally (assuming you have not altered the table structure in a way which changes this) The music player is addressed like this:

If you want to move it that is all you need, for some reason you need to also use embed to hide it or resize it.

If you are using the div overlay strategy, I most often recommend, you should just be able to render them visible, and they should fall automatically bottom center.

Set Y to the needed height, play with some numbers, see what works.
Try that first, if your comments are already centered, this will just move them down, and it should push the bottom links down as well (if those are displayed).

If they move down, but you don't like the horizontal position, add horizontal positioning.
i.e.

You'll need to export the project to m4a. (the only option on my Garageband.
If you have Quicktime Pro, you can open it and then export it as an mp3. Otherwise, there may be a free program on the net if you search hard enough. Try Versiontracker.com. Most stuff on there is trial, but occassionally there's a good freeware application that I find on there. Otherwise just search Yahoo for "convert m4a" and "to mp3"

First you find the photos you want to display and then you find a hosting site. Photobucket is My suggestion. Once you upload your photos to their server, they give you a code and all you have to do is copy and paste it to wherever you want it to go on your Myspace page (about Me, Music, wherever..)

There are 3rd party flash music players you can copy and paste into the profile section of your myspace. The weird thing about these is that you have to upload the song(s) in mp3 format to a website(most of the time the flash player site itself will have a section to do this) and then tranfser them to the player. The song needs to be in MP3 form and less than 10 MB (megabytes) large. GarageBand doesn't save MP3s directly, so you'll have to convert it.
If you have iTunes set up to rip your CDs to MP3 instead of iTunes' usual AAC format, you're all set... pull down GarageBand's File menu and choose "Export to iTunes".
If not, you'll need to change iTunes' preferences. Go to iTunes-%26gt;Preferences, and select the "Advanced" section. Pick the "Importing" tab and choose MP3 Encoder under the "Import Using" pull-down. Then choose the quality setting you like... a higher quality (192 or 160 kbps) means a larger file, while a lower quality (128 kbps) means a smaller file but it might not sound as good. If it's a long song you might have to compromise to make it fit.
Convert it to an MP3 first.
Ok, if your using a mac its easy.
1. Open Garageband
2. Click on the file menu, then "Export to iTunes"
The file will appear as an MP3 in your iTunes Library.
When you want to upload it to Myspace, search for the name of the file (in the search bar on the top of the window that pops up when you want to upload), and then select the MP3 version of the file. If the song shows up as AIFF, then
1. Open iTunes
2. Select Preferences, then click on the Advanced Tab, from ther select "Importing".
3. Set the import file type to .mp3
4. Go back to garage band and export again, this time it will export as an mp3.
Upload to your Myspace and enjoy :D.

if you promote yourself locally by performing in local battle of the bands, or maybe arranging gigs with either just your band or maybe some other bands you will start to get a much bigger following than if you promote yourself purely basd on the internet. people need to connect with you and concerts will be the best way to do this.
however if you already have all the internet things u metioned i really dont think you need anymore thats great advertising just keep getting people to go on your site and get there friends to go on it too!! i still think a myspace profile is best because the majority of people use myspace and havent heard of some of those other site.

This is not half bad, for just starting out.
"Hey" has more lyric complexity, but it sounds just a little like you're struggling to hit the high notes in the chorus. But you're not terribly off key, either.
You say you're still working on Neverending Fate, but it's more in your vocal range. Concentrate on it.
Get a piece of music software that will let you record the guitar and vocals on separate tracks, or get separate mics for each of you so you can balance the volume. The vocals were sometimes hard to hear over the guitar. The multitrack software will allow you to overdub solo guitar melodies over the strumming, which will give a better instrumental orchestration.

its not a great site for record deals, although it is posible to get one on there.
it can be a great way to promote bands, I found alot of bands on there that i have never heard of and i end up really enjoying it. so it canhelp selling out shows and cd's and all that good stuff
but i still go for playing at clubs and stuff like that, and try to get scouts to come check you out!
i think its just a better way to promote your music all over the world as opposed to selling your cd's after you play to a crowd at the local bars. if you're looking to get signed to a deal, i wouldnt put all my eggs in that basket. i think posting a question on y/a with my music and asking people to further support me through my website would be better. at least this way you could gain an underground following and slowly build some momentum. myspace, i think, would lose you in the millions of people signed up to it.

I don't think My Space will get you discovered, but it will get your name out there. It is great for networking. I do know one of our local bars found a couple of bands on My Space and had them come and play.

You must have a MySpace Music account.
I don't use GB for my music, but if it's anything like what I use (i.e. Sonar), export your project to MP3 audio format. I do believe MySpace will allow other file types, but I can't think off of the top of my head what they are. But when you do save the audio as MP3, be sure that the bit rate is at 128kbps otherwise if you have a song that is too long, MySpace will refuse it because the file size is too big.

Go to MySpace.com and click on the Music button near the top. Then in a red strip near the top (under the original blue one) where it says Music Videos | Directory | Search | Top Artists | Shows | Music Forums | Music Classifieds | Artist Signup, click on Artist signup.
Go to the music section, and where it says Directory, and all that stuff, at the end it should say Artist Sign Up. Press that and ten simply follow the instructions. ITs like making a normal Myspace.
Click on music and it will give you the option to create an account.

that's not the way myspace works. you will have to find another music hosting site to have people pay for downloads.

You can record the audio coming directly out of your Soundcard into a program like Sound Forge then save it as a wav or mp3 file.

You can use The Music Hutch http://www.themusichutch.com/ to upload and search music %26amp; music videos and then copy the embed code into myspace profile. You can add unlimited songs to your playlist.
Get an MP3 encoder and use that instead of converting it. Re-record the song through that. Sorry about the difficulty but that should work.

you don't have to use code to embed a song in your bulliten like you can on your profile. there are settings for your bulletin and there is a spot where you can put the url of a song hosted. I take it you know that you need to host the mp3 somewhere like fileden

YOu have to set up a myspace music account, which requires a seperate email address for your band.

just follow the directions. once your band's account is set up, you can add your music. Make sure the music is in MP3 format. You are allowed to upload 4 songs. Im not sure how long they can be, but there is a limit. I tried to upload a 10 minute song i mad, but was denied.
umm if you have a band account, which i hope you got when you go to edit profile there is a space that tells you to download songs and stuff and the sheet there will tell you what kind of file it has to be.

I've seen several postings saying that comedian conversion no longer works because of a previous exploit but band conversion still does. The comedian conversion link (http://collect.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus... prompts me to login but then only brings me to a practically blank myspace page that says "Comedian Homepage" and nothing else (besides normal myspace page links).
I've also followed a suggestion and sent a message to "myspace.com/aplaceforcomedy" but received no response. Also have sent messages to myspace support but no response.

Try projectplaylist.com. You can go to that website, and create a playlist with one song, one hundred songs. It will give you a code to paste in your About Me section, and voila! You can search for the one particular song you are looking for and then it will be on your profile. I have it on my profile and I absolutely love it! Also, once it is on your profile, you can make changes at projectplaylist.com, and the changes automatically update on your profile, and we all know how aggravating posting and re-posting codes can be!

1) Get your own domain name at Go Daddy. Get something like Rotation-The-Band.com. Then you can have your own website which will allow you to post tour dates, contests, etc.
2) Create a nice looking website. You can get really cheap hosting nowadays. Like $8 a month. Way better than the freebie places and looks more like you have it together and are a real band. I've posted a link to a low cost but really nice web hosting place below.
3) Bring business cards or even better, post card sized business cards that have both your myspace and your website address on it. Hand them out at gigs. The reason I say post card size is because that's different and you can make them look more with more room than a business card. I would create a website using a free provider such as Geocities or something.
Try Facebook, and try looking for websites in whatever area you are in (local newspaper sites, town website etc), as sometimes you can post free ads for things....Also, a lot of internet providers allow you to make a small website through your internet account and it is included in the cost of your internet per month, so that could be something else to look at (if your current provider does not do so, then look into other providers and may be switch if it is still affordable)
OOOOH, another thing, if you are going to wind up with a website, it is important to "Own" your Domain name, and other possibilities as well as they can link directly to your site, as sometimes mis-type things or mis-spell for instance: www.yahoo.ca, but they type www.yahoo,ca (typo comma instead of period). Whoever helps with the website can explain this to you more easily than I can!
Also, it always helps if the band has a logo for advertising purposes, and another thing is to may be look around town at local festivals to get into to play for and that would be another form of free advertising and drawing out more of a crowd!

im not HTML savvy... but that isn't designating the title text.. it's a seperate HTML code.... also... try looking up different HTML color codes... some codes use different color codes.... one color might be #0000000 and another can be Color:#black.... it depends on the code

You can't use Myspace music accounts to host copywritten music. When you upload music onto Myspace, you are claiming it as your own work.
If you do it, Myspace will terminate your accounts, and you put yourself at risk of a copyright claim by the org. that DOES own the copyright.

Before uploading the mp3 file, locate whatever folder it is stored in %26amp; right-click on it. Go to Properties %26amp; check to make sure it is mp3 format. You may be uploading the shortcut %26amp; not the file itself.
make sure you upload the rite audio , it makes a copy of the aiff. in the same folder and makes the mp3. so you have 2 audio the aiff. and mp3.

If you have Roxio, MusicMatch, iTunes, Nero, or any other music playlist software, you can convert the files easily. If you have nothing, you can search Google for different freeware to download, but be careful because there is addware/spyware involved with that. I would recommend getting iTunes; they'll convert anything to mp3 in one simple step. Good luck.

heres what i do. numero uno need a mic or voice recorder and a recording program obviously and just like that other individual said you need a converter obviously A WAV TO MP3 converter just do a search for that in google it'll come up then once the file you chose to be converted is ready it'll be in the folder the original file you converted was in go to myspace make a band profile and upload that ****!
